Hello Pigeons
2016

Presented at The Performance Arcade 2016 (curated by Sam Trubridge) and the 2016 New Zealand Fringe Festival. Made in collaboration with Kedron Parker with support from Wellington City Council.

Performed over a week we would take people to Pigeon Park (Te Aro Park) to talk about and interact with feral and domesticated pigeons. Working with breeder Peter Hill, participants would get to hold racing pigeons (the same species as the feral pigeons in the city). When released they would fly 40km back to Peter's house in Paekakariki.

Our research included visits to the Auckland poultry and pigeon ASSN annual show, conversations with pigeon breeders, city Councillors and the Wellington city pest management team.
