looking for nectar
Looking for Nectar is a place for me to test the idea that everything in existence; animals, plants, planets, all things are alive and connected. I imagine that the whole world is made of charged matter, simultaneously productive and receptive of experience.
The Hindu Metaphysical tradition, which I grew up in, suggests that everything in the universe is made from the same fundamental essence, which manifests itself into a multiplicity of forms. These forms therefore are immersed in an ineluctable flow of energy and signals.
This exchange happens in the universe, which I imagine as a giant circuit board with energy and signals flowing between bodies, resonating, repelling, charging, emitting and receiving.
By setting up networks of objects in a space the work becomes a microcosm (of the universe) and attempts to intensify the presence of the circuit. One’s body becomes a component in the circuit as well as a trace, collapsing the subject / object dichotomy.
